Welcome to Dora House Redevelopment Project

C&C is continuing to work on the re-development of Dora House; a former 202 unit 1960s sheltered housing scheme in St John’s Wood, London, opposite Lord’s Cricket Ground.

The development proposal consists of two buildings:

•    Building 1 – a replacement scheme for people aged over 55, fronting Lodge Road and consisting of 156 units. Of these, 17 will be for private rent and 139 will be for social rent

•    Building 2 – a private residential dwelling fronting St John’s Wood Road.  This part of the site will be sold with planning permission to fund the construction of Building 1

We are happy to report that the planning approval for Dora House is now in place. The formal legal process has been completed and this means we are able to demolish and start construction of the new building.

This is great news, as we are now able to move forward with the selection of a demolition contractor.

The land at 60 St Johns Wood Road remains on the market and there has been growing interest from prospective purchasers. Confidential talks have taken place with a number of the interested parties.

Once a confirmed purchaser is identified, we will start the process for selection of the contractor who will build the new development and our aim is to achieve this by the end of this year.

A completion date for the project will be established once our contractor is appointed. We will continue to share progress on the development in future issues of this magazine.
