About Chesterton Court

Chesterton Court has 29 self contained flats for the over 55s. There are 2 two- bedroom flats and 27 one bedroom flats.

The scheme supports independent living. New residents come to us as referrals from Ealing Council.

The scheme, which was purpose built in approx. 1992 is situated next door to Cecil Court, our general needs accommodation and Eaton Rise, our Supported Housing Scheme.

Residents live independently in their own flats. There is a member of staff on site 18.5 hrs. per week. There is also an emergency call system in all flats, available 24 hours a day.

The facilities we provide

The schemes communal facilities include:

  • Modern, comfortable lounge, including a TV
  • Laundry facilities
  • Lift to all floors
  • Guest room, which is available for a reasonable charge
  • Well kept gardens
  • Limited parking

The communal areas are maintained by C&C with cleaning contractors looking after the internal areas and gardening contractors making sure the gardens are well maintained.

How we manage the scheme

Our Portfolio Managers oversee our Service Officers who are responsible for the day-to-day running of our sheltered schemes, aiming to keep things running smoothly, with good team work, empathy and organisation. They also maintain links with outside agencies.

Portfolio Manager - Brett

Brett originally started his career in Nursing, having trained in Aberdeen. Worked at the Freeman Hospital in Newcastle, and then moved to London in 1999 to work at the National Hospital until 2002. Brett then took his career on a different path, by managing Mental Health, Drug & Alcohol and Homeless Services across London for Look Ahead (2002 to 2009), and then joined the South London YMCA (2009 to 2013), to continue the same work.

Brett joined C&C in April 2013 as a Housing Area Manager for Camden, after a few years he changed posts to become the Portfolio Manager for Housing, Supported and Agency Managed. This covers the South West sites, the care contract for Alexandra Place and the contracts for 19 agency sites.

Activities at the scheme

As well as informal socialising, activities are organised such as coffee mornings, film club and aromatherapy.

A number of regular and one-off arts, fitness and events are provided by our Engagement Team. Some of these may happen offsite.

How we involve and listen to residents

Satisfaction with where you live is vital to your happiness and our continual improvement and success. That’s we aim to encourage regular engagement and offer you a range of ways to share your ideas and work together to make a difference. Across our Sheltered Housing schemes, our dedicated teams are there to support you and help you live an independent life. But we also value your ideas and suggestions. Through scheme meetings and/or other engagement forums such as our assemblies or Annual Resident Conference, you’ll have the opportunity to help shape our future and be kept informed about what is happening in the community you live in.

We also collect regular feedback through our Resident Satisfaction Surveys and at our Sheltered Housing schemes, you can also use the Sign in tablets located at the entrance, to complete a short satisfaction survey on how satisfied you are with our services and give us any comments on improvements or ideas you may have.

We are dedicated to engaging with residents to help improved our services and enhance the lives of those that live in our homes. Our Service Scrutiny Panel is our formal group where residents & board members analyse the work we do and make recommendations that positively impact services for all residents. What's in the area

Chesterton Court is ideally situated just five minutes from the shopping centre and restaurants at Ealing Broadway. The Civic Centre is just 10 minutes away.

There are excellent transport links to Central London. Ealing Broadway station, which is close by, is on the Central & District tube lines, as well as being a main-line station between Reading and Paddington.

The E2 (Greenford to Brentford) E9 (Yeading to Ealing Broadway) and 226 (Golders Green to Ealing Broadway) bus routes run along Eaton Rise and there is a bus stop outside Eaton rise Supported Housing scheme.
