C&C acquires 85 homes in Wandsworth

C&C has confirmed the successful purchase of 85 homes in the London Borough of Wandsworth from national housing association Home Group.

C&C began talks with Home Group to acquire the homes earlier in the year. Over the last few months, affected customers have taken part in a consultation on the plans, ahead of their receiving formal approval.

Sam Scharf, director of housing and customer services at C&C said: “This is a really positive move for C&C and the customers in Wandsworth. We have a significant and well-established London footprint having been providing homes and services for nearly 100 years.

“This move will grow the number and type of housing we provide in the Wandsworth area. We’ll also continue to develop our expertise in providing homes for people aged over 55, and is a specialism we’re always looking to enhance. As part of this, we engage all our customers with a wide activities programme, enabling them to connect with each other and stay active, all while supporting their independence.

“This year we also launched an ambitious programme to invest £2.8m in a stock condition programme on all Aster properties, which will include this stock, backed up by investments of £580m to carry out improvements through to 2030. Through this work customers will really benefit from our focus on ensuring the safety, warmth and security of our buildings and be involved in shaping the services we provide.”
