C&C appoints Sam Scharf as Director of Housing and Customer Services
30/09/2021
C&C has appointed Sam Scharf as its Director of Housing and Customer Services.
In his new role, Sam will take overall responsibility for management of C&C’s sheltered housing and general needs schemes; ensuring excellent delivery of resident services, both through digital solutions and from in-person scheme officers. In addition, Sam will oversee C&C’s Service Hub, which received over 35,000 contacts during the 2020/21 financial year.
Sam joins C&C from housing provider Orbit Group, where he worked for the past eight years most recently as Director of Communities and Sustainability. Sam is a member of the board of advisors for the Centre for the New Midlands, and has focused on social investment in housing as part of a role for Big Society Capital. He has held positions supporting government and large charities, and worked in the USA on election campaigns in 2008, including the Obama/Biden presidential campaign.
Sam Scharf, Director of Housing and Customer Services, C&C, said:
“I’m looking forward to working closely with our housing residents and C&C colleagues to oversee and enhance the services that we offer. It’s particularly exciting to join C&C not only given the proposed merger with Aster, but also that the new redevelopment of Dora House in St John’s Wood, which creatively imagines affordable living for the over-55s, will open in late 2022.”
Julia Ashley, Chief Executive, C&C, said:
“Sam is bringing a wealth of experience and a real person-centred approach to C&C. At a time where the organisation is proposing to merge with and become a subsidiary company of Aster Group, Sam is well positioned to lead C&C’s housing strategy as we prepare to embark on an exciting new chapter, which includes the creation of new affordable housing for over-55s in London.”
