Top tips for tackling mould and condensation

03/10/2024

With the colder months of the year soon to be upon us again, we know that condensation and mould can be a problem in some homes.

We can all play our part to help prevent the spread of condensation and mould.

We’ve put together a simple video guide to help you minimise the issue, and to explain how to deal with mould if it does occur. Watch it below.

We also have further guides and tips here.

The best way to prevent mould is by ventilating your home to prevent moisture build up in the air leading to condensation and mould growth.

Ensure your extractor fans are switched on and any trickle vents on your windows, (the small slot usually at the top of your window frame), if you have them, are open. If your home has a central ventilation unit, it’s essential this is kept on.

A Hygrometer is a small device that lives in your home and tells you how much humidity is in the air. It’ll show when air moisture levels are high so you can take action to reduce it. Last winter we gave away over 500 Hygrometers for the benefit of your homes.
