Sheltered housing
Theses are a collection of mostly studio and one-bedroom apartments designed to enable independent living for individuals over 55.
Many schemes are staffed during working hours and will all have an emergency out of hours service. There are often communal indoor and outdoor areas and many schemes run trips and activities for residents. While scheme staff can be available for support and advice, sheltered housing residents are actively encouraged to live independent lives. If you require advanced care in your later years, a care home may be more appropriate for you.
