Equality, Diversity & Inclusion

A commitment towards Equality Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) is at the heart of C&C’s beliefs and values. Upholding Equality and Diversity can have a number of benefits for C&C including but not limited to:

  • Improving overall value for money for C&C in terms of goods, works and services they purchase;
  • Improving the quality, responsiveness and appropriateness of our services;
  • Ensuring that our tenants money is not spent on practices which lead to unfair discrimination to sections of our community;
  • Creating a diverse and integrated workforce

The Resident Engagement Team is taking a lead in promoting EDI but it is driven by a strong organisational commitment and it’s down to everyone to make it work.


Recently, we have taken a number of steps towards strengthening EDI at C&C.

C&C has joined Stonewall as a Diversity Champion. Stonewall is a charity which works with businesses from all sectors to tackle Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) issues and to support LGBT people in the workplace. They will be providing us with lots of information, resources and support in the future.

C&C has an Equality and Diversity Steering Panel (EDSP) which meets every two months to discuss ways to improve awareness of EDI issues. The EDSP has membership from every department as well as resident representatives and each rep feeds back on EDI developments in their area. The EDSP is providing information and learning sessions on dementia, homelessness and more so be on the lookout. 

In September 2016, C&C was accredited Leaders in Diversity status.  We’re delighted with this award which acknowledges our commitment to Equality, Diversity and Inclusion.  We will continue to embrace diversity,  to equally include our staff and residents in all that we do and above all to make C&C a place where all want to live and work.

Please join us in supporting EDI; whether it’s by making sure EDI issues are discussed in team meetings, taking the EDI E-Learning course sent out to all staff and engaged residents or simply signing the EDI pledge at Reception, Central Office and wearing your badge to raise awareness.
